Created by Grant Wheeler and featured in Imbibe magazine in 2016, the Spicy Dead Lady is a bold, smoky, equal-parts cocktail. Mezcal, Aperol, falernum, and lime are lifted by a dash of heat from Hellfire bitters (or chili water).Sweet, sour, spicy — this one’s got it all.
Ingredients
0.75ozMezcal
0.75ozAperol
0.75ozVelvet Falernum
0.75ozFresh Lime Juice
1dashHellfire Bitters
Instructions
Add all ingredients to a shaker with ice.
Shake until well chilled.
Fine strain into a chilled coupe glass.
Garnish with a dehydrated lime wheel
Notes
If you don’t have Hellfire bitters, substitute a few drops of chili water or a thin slice of fresh habanero in the shaker.Pairs beautifully with tacos, sunshine, or bold personalities.
